CWCDAfrica: Using Technology to Drive Social Change through Digital Solutions
We are the Centre for Civic Citizen Welfare and Community Development (CWCDAfrica). A Non-Profit Organization that uses emerging technologies to solve core development problems and promote social change in Africa. We drive social change, accountability, and transparency using emerging technologies. We believe that technology has the power to drive social change and empower communities. That’s why we’ve developed a suite of digital platforms that leverage the latest technologies to tackle critical social issues and bring about positive change.
Our products are designed to address a range of societal challenges, from sexual and gender-based violence to relief and humanitarian aid, citizen engagement platform, and election monitoring. Each of our platforms is powered by cutting-edge technology and built to empower citizens and stakeholders alike.
Here’s a closer look at some of our products:
UNSUB: Unsub is a digital platform that facilitates connections between victims of SGBV and relevant stakeholders in their local area. Unsub provides a centralized platform for coordination and collaboration, enabling stakeholders to more effectively support victims and advance their shared goals of preventing and addressing sexual and gender-based violence.
ENGAGE: Engage is a crowdsourcing platform using new technologies that allow citizens to reach out to the government on critical issues concerning them. It allows for citizens to freely call on the government for action in areas they would love to see changes.
RISE: Rise is a platform that connects the population in need of relief materials with relevant authorities that can provide these materials to them.
ZABE: Zabe is an election monitoring platform that helps citizens monitor elections in real-time through crowd-sourcing. The apps collect data sent by observers at individual polling units, sort, analyze and report the data.
At CWCDAfrica, we believe that our digital platforms can help to bridge the gap between citizens and the authorities being either other NGOs/ CSOs or the government, facilitate communication and collaboration, and enable more effective responses to critical social challenges.
